Founded in 1912 by Herbert George Gladwell, Copdock Mill originally started as a country mill. Over the years, Copdock Mill has diversified, but it still remains a family owned brand. The Gladwell family have been making Wild Bird Seed for more than 40 years.
It is well-documented that natural habitats and feeding grounds are declining and that our indigenous and visiting bird population need other sources to supplement their feeding requirements.
The Gladwell family were one of the first to act on this information back in the mid 1970s and produced a seed mix called “Supreme Wild Bird” and the Copdock Mill Wild Bird range was born. Over the years the range has grown and developed from the one mix to numerous specially formulated wild bird mixes. With a long history in developing and manufacturing wild bird mixes, Copdock Mill have also added other new products to give you a complete range of wild bird feed and accessories to choose from.
To support British farmers and to minimise our carbon footprint, we source as many of our bird food ingredients as we can from local farms. Other ingredients are sourced directly from the country of origin, and are processed at our mill, ensuring the best quality possible. We blend all of our wild bird seed mixes at the mill. Travel is minimised to reduce the impact we have on our environment.
Our new bags are polyethylene, and can be recycled at some local recycling centres. We are happy to have used packaging returned to us for recycling but are unable to cover postage costs of returning the packaging at this time.
